Rockin’ Roller coaster!!!

Everything is getting flipped around these days; from Sal Costa departing from My Darkest Days; to Adam Gontier of Three Days Grace having to depart unexpectedly because of health reasons. Although  I love both the bands  It’s not going to be the same with Matt helping out Three Days Grace while they are doing the headlining tour this year.

Three Days Grace’s site offers a few words on this,

Three Days Grace has announced that Matt Walst, lead singer of My Darkest Days, will be joining the band as the lead singer for their North American co-headlining tour with Shinedown, starting in Moline, IL on February 1st.

Former lead singer, Adam Gontier, has left the group effective immediately due to a health issue.

In response, Brad Walst stated: ‘We were surprised and distressed by Adam’s sudden departure.  We are however very excited for this upcoming tour, and to have my brother Matt stepping in as lead singer.

You can check out Matt’s recorded session with Three Days Grace on their site here.

This was Adam’s letter to everyone

ADAM GONTIER’S “ADDRESS OF RESIGNATION” FROM THREE DAYS GRACE

To all of my fans, my friends, my family, these are my words coming from my heart, separate from my role as “lead singer of Three Days Grace”.

I want you all to know how very thankful I am for your consistent love, your respect, and you’re undying support. It is important for me to address any concerns regarding my health being connected to drugs or addiction. The truth is, when I was struggling during that dark time in my life, I hit rock bottom, and I had the kindest of people reach out from all over the world, and reach their hands out to help pick me up. I am so blessed to be walking in the light now. I am reminded of your loyalty, always. The truth is, and I’m very proud to say this…, I am sober. That chapter in my life is over.

There have been many defining moments in my life. My time as part of Three Days Grace is most definitely one of the miraculous ones. I have had so many tender hearted people share with me their stories. How I’ve touched, or changed their lives. My truth is that all of the love I have received has forever changed my life. Each letter I’ve read, every picture I’ve been sent, all of the voices I’ve heard sing along with me, I will forever remember, and never forget…

After twenty years of being part of an ever evolving band, I have been inspired by life, to move on and to continue to evolve on my own terms. I could not be more grateful for all the souls who have travelled along with me. A journey I look back on with integrity, and a future I look forward to with such hope. I have always admired brave hearts. Life is always changing. I will continue to follow my heart, and what I love to do. I’m not sure what the next horizon will look like, but I do have all the faith in the world that whatever it is, It’s meant to be, and I have faith that blessings will continue to shine over all of us. I once heard a “brave heart” say:

“When nothing is sure, everything is possible.”

It’s because of my life’s journey, because of all of you, that I believe.

Sincerely, with love,

Adam

Matt posted about being on a roller coaster ride.  And I agree with him, it does feel like we’re getting pulled up and down.

WHAT A CRAZY WEEK

It has been a very emotional week for myself and the members of My Darkest Days. With the departure of Sal from the band I have to say that it has felt like I have been on a rollercoaster and I am not sure where the end is. When you are on the road with some one for the length of time that we were, you form a bond just like any other relationship and when one person walks away it is only natural to feel a wide range of things from sadness to anger. That being said please know that Sal chose to leave My Darkest Days and although we are disappointed we wish him the best of luck in his new life and his new endeavors.

With every down there is an up! I am very excited to have the opportunity to share the stage with my brother Brad and the rest of the members of Three Days Grace on their Transit of Venus Tour. As most of you are, I was just as shocked as you to find out about Adam’s departure from 3DG. When asked, I was unsure at first as Adam, Brad, Neil and Barry have all been such huge influences on my life musically and personally. After some thought and a few sleepless nights I accepted. It has always been a childhood dream to share the stage with my brother and I get that opportunity on this upcoming tour. Adam is an amazing Singer, Performer and Role-model and all I can do is try and fill some enormous shoes. I wish him well in his recovery and hope to see him grace the stage again soon.

With all that has gone on this week I want to assure everyone that My Darkest Days is stronger then ever! My bandmates are very excited for me and I have their full support. We have completed some songs that we are very excited about and my brothers, Brendo, Dougie and lil Reidy will continue to write with me while I am on tour. We are looking forward to putting out our third album and hope you are as excited about it as we are!

Last but most important of all I want to thank all of you who have supported My Darkest Days in the past and continue to support us in the future. For those that have been there from the beginning and have stuck by us we thank you with all our hearts. For those who have just joined us we thank you. For those about to rock, we salute you!

Matt Walst

With everything happening I can understand these feelings.  How do you feel about this going on? I want to know what everyone thinks about this.

A very sad day for MDD Superfans….

Today someone posted on the My Darkest Days Facebook about Sal Costa leaving the band.  They posted,

Band Member Sal Costa is leaving My Darkest Days. The band is currently writing for their new album and it will be released Late Fall 2013. Stay tuned for some exciting MDD news as well about the upcoming album. The band is unsure yet of who the replacement will be, but in the meantime they will continue on as a 4 piece. Thanks to all our fans for your continued support.

The only problem was that this was supposed to be announced later on in the week.  Sal posted this to respond to all the fans that were asking him if it was true:

ATTN FANS: It is true. I am leaving My Darkest Days. I was hoping to announce this in the upcoming few days as I have been celebrating some of my life milestones. However, the press release has been made, so I owe it to you all to tell you from the person himself. Please see below.  The past 4 years with My Darkest Days have been an incredible journey and an amazing experience. I will be forever grateful for all that the band has contributed to my life and career. We shared a lot of crazy adventures and life experiences.   I have always encouraged my fans to follow their heart and pursue their dreams. Now is the time for me to follow that mantra as well. I’m looking forward to the next chapter of my musical career and sharing it with all the amazing fans. I can’t wait to share a bunch of new music with you all in the near future. This is not the end… this is just the beginning 😉  Please ‘SHARE’ this post as I want people to hear the news from me, rather than broken telephone. All the best to MDD.  Much love. – Sal

Since there was some speculation about why he left so his wife Jaimie posted

Yesterday Sal & I got married. We have been together for almost 6 years. I have always stood by his side and supported all of his professional endeavors and always will. Today, it was announced that Sal Coz Costa was leaving My Darkest Days. A mutual agreed upon and official announcement was supposed to be released in the next few weeks. Unfortunately, certain parties decided it was a good idea to make a statement the day after our wedding. Whether this was because it was an attempt to rain on our parade, or whether it was because it was an attempt to make it look like the reason Sal left was because he got married, I have the following to say: 1. Music IS who Sal is. He will continue to pursue his career as a rock musician, and I will stand by his side and support him whole-heartedly no matter what. 2. Life is short. You only live once. It is important to follow your heart and dreams. More importantly, it is important to surround yourself with people who love you, and only wish you the best. Positivity & love moves mountains.
Sal & I have chosen to start our next chapter in life surrounded by amazing friends & loved ones. Thank you everyone for all your love and support, Love always, OFFICIALLY JAIMIE COSTA

Please for the next week change your profile picture on Facebook to a picture of Sal, or of Sal and you to show your support!!!  Become a #Saldier!!!!! Our hearts go out to Sal and his wife and the My Darkest Days guys.  We also wish in luck in anything he does and we hope to hear from stuff about him soon!

Emphatic’s Major Announcement….

This week there was some news circulating on Facebook about Patrick Wilson, Lance Dowdle and Alan Larson leaving Emphatic.

Alan posted on his Facebook:

~Alan”
Lance posted on his Facebook:
“BREAKING NEWS… Along with Patrick Wilson, I will no longer be affiliated with Emphatic. We had a good run. It should have been way more than what it was. Damage is one of the best rock albums released in the past 10 years and I’m honored to have been involved. Getting to do a last tour with Patrick was at least one hell of a way to go out. I’m am so thankful for Jeff Blue, Steve Robertson, and everyone at Atlantic. They made this happen for me and hope they keep me involved. I’m seasoned, hungry, and ready for real success.

Who would like to see Patrick and I carry on together? Possibly with a certain drummer *COUGH* Dylan Wood… and what about that other rock star Creighton Taylor Bibbs??? I know another dude who can slapadabass real good. Can you say SUPERGROUP?!Not sure what will happen, but I am not going to let this be the end of my journey. Thanks to the fans who support me and will continue to be my support. I love you guys!

Time to get to work on my own material, and getting back to the shredding I used to do…”

Emphatic posted about Patrick leaving saying:
“BREAKING NEWS… Patrick Wilson has left the band due to personal reasons. Patrick will be missed but the show must go on. We are moving forward working on a new record set for release early 2013. We are so grateful to have the most amazing fans and we hope to have your continued support… we wont give up on you!!! More info to come soon!!!”
So it is confirmed that Justin Mccain and Patrick Mussack will still be in the band.  It will not be the same without the other three.
